Fall Protection (29 CFR 1926 Subpart M -- 1926.500-503)
Inspect fall protection for all workers at elevations of 6 feet or more above a lower level per 29 CFR 1926.501. Fall protection is the most frequently cited OSHA construction standard. A competent person must identify unprotected edges, floor holes, and leading edges before workers enter those areas.
- Are all unprotected sides and edges where workers are at 6 feet or more above a lower level protected by a guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system?

Verify the employer has appointed a competent person with the authority to take immediate corrective action, that frequent and regular inspections are occurring, and that all workers have received adequate safety training for the specific hazards they face on this site.

- Has the employer assessed hand injury hazards and provided appropriate cut-resistant, chemical-resistant, or thermal-protection gloves matched to the specific hazard for each task?
Electrical Safety (29 CFR 1926 Subpart K -- 1926.400-408)
Inspect electrical safety on the construction site. GFCI protection is required for all 120-volt, 15- and 20-ampere temporary outlets used by personnel. All electrical work must be performed by or under the supervision of a qualified electrical person. Electrical contact is a leading cause of construction worker fatalities.

Housekeeping and Materials Handling (1926.25 / Subpart H 1926.250-252)
Inspect site housekeeping and materials storage per 29 CFR 1926.25 and Subpart H. Cluttered work areas create trip, fire, and struck-by hazards. 1926.25 requires construction sites to be kept clean throughout the project, not just at the end of each shift.
