  • No excessive stretch (>5%)?
  • No excessive wear at bearing points?
  • No nicks, gouges, or cracks in links?
  • No twisted or bent links?
  • Master links and connecting links in good condition?
  • Chain tag legible?

Synthetic Web Slings

Nylon/polyester slings

  • No cuts, tears, or snags?
  • No excessive abrasion?
  • No acid/alkali damage (discoloration)?
  • No heat damage (melting, charring)?
  • End fittings secure and undamaged?
  • Stitching intact?
  • Capacity tag legible?

Hooks & Shackles

Lifting hardware

  • Hook safety latch works properly?
  • No throat opening increase (>15%)?
  • No twist or bend in hook?
  • No cracks in hook?
  • Shackle pins properly secured?
  • Shackle WLL adequate for load?
