Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Verify all workers are wearing required PPE.

  • Gloves appropriate for tasks?
  • Steel-toed footwear worn by all?
  • Hearing protection used in loud areas?
  • Respiratory protection used when required?
  • Adequate PPE stock available on-site?

Scaffolding & Elevated Work

Inspect all scaffolding and elevated work areas.

  • Current inspection tags on all scaffolds?
  • Scaffolding structurally sound (no damage)?
  • Scaffolding properly assembled per specs?
  • Base stable and level?
  • Full planking with no gaps?
  • Guardrails installed (top, mid, toe boards)?
  • Safe access ladder properly attached?
  • Load limits posted and not exceeded?
  • Safe distance from power lines?

Fall Protection

Verify fall protection systems and compliance.

  • Guardrails on elevated platforms/edges?
  • Fall arrest harnesses inspected?
  • Anchor points adequate and secure?
  • Floor openings/skylights protected?
  • Ladders secured and at proper angle?
  • Ladders extend 3ft above landing?

Electrical Safety

Check electrical installations and hazards.

  • Wiring properly installed (no exposed wires)?
  • GFCI protection on temporary power?
  • Extension cords in good condition?
  • Lockout/Tagout procedures followed?
  • Safe distance from overhead power lines?
  • 36-inch clearance around electrical panels?

Site Conditions & Housekeeping

Check general site conditions and organization.

  • Pathways clear of obstructions?
  • No trip hazards (debris, cables)?
  • Waste properly disposed in bins?
  • Adequate lighting in all work areas?
  • Hazard signage visible and clear?
  • Materials properly secured/stacked?

Fire Safety & Emergency

Verify emergency preparedness.

  • Fire extinguishers accessible and inspected?
  • Number of fire extinguishers on site
  • Hot work permits issued where required?
  • Emergency exits clear and marked?
  • First aid kits stocked and accessible?
  • Emergency contacts posted visibly?
  • Workers trained on evacuation routes?

Equipment & Machinery

Check equipment safety and operation.

  • All equipment pre-inspected before use?
  • All operators properly certified?
  • Safety guards in place on all machinery?
  • Emergency stops functional?
  • Backup alarms working on mobile equipment?
