Fire Prevention

Eliminate fire hazards.

  • Combustibles removed within 35 ft?
  • Remaining combustibles covered with fire-resistant material?

Equipment & Protection

Verify safety equipment.

  • Fire extinguisher within 25 ft?
  • Fire watch assigned for duration + 30 min?
  • Sprinkler system active (if present)?
  • Welding equipment in good condition?
  • Proper PPE worn (welding helmet, gloves, apron)?

Ventilation

Ensure adequate ventilation.

  • Adequate ventilation provided?
  • If confined space, permit obtained?
  • Local fume extraction in place (if required)?
